Season log

2026, in the moments that mattered

Every night of this season has its own page in the daily archive. This is the short version — 35 entries drawn from 138 nights, each one a change between two days rather than a state repeated across forty.

How this list is chosen

Everything here is a transition, not a state: the day a mark was crossed, the day a streak reached its number, the day a chase stopped being possible. Rare feats come from the notables the nightly job already verified, restricted to the genuinely uncommon — a first home run of the season happened 132 times and a walk-off 119, so neither is a season headline. Repeats of the same event are collapsed, since a running total moves nightly while the event does not, and no single kind of entry may take more than a few slots in a month.

The .400 line is dated against the best batting average anyone has ever recorded over a stretch of the length still remaining, not against a round number — which is the only way the day it ends can be identified at all. Most outlets simply stop mentioning the chase.

Built entirely from stored snapshots and no API calls, so it can be regenerated for any season the archive covers. Right now that is 2026.
